About me!
Hello, I’m Paige!
I am a self-proclaimed nerd who loves attending the renaissance faire, sewing, playing D&D, and her two cats (and of course her husband, who supports all of these wacky hobbies).
I actually started attending college majoring in animation but in my 2nd year was told by my 2d design professor that if I didn’t switch to graphic design I would be ‘throwing away my talent’. I was convinced, and switched majors. I went on to earn my bachelor’s of fine art in graphic design and also a minor in printmaking.
Since earning my degree I have worked in several varied fields including commercial printing, photography, and consulting. In my current position at a consulting firm my focus has been public outreach and education for local and national planning projects. This has led to me gaining a working knowledge of many aspects of GIS mapping, planning, construction, transit, and data visualization. It is my belief that the better understanding I myself have of what I information is being conveyed on website, in a handout, or during a presentation, the better I will be able to use design to explain it in a clear, concise, and easy to understand way to the audience.
I have always loved tactile design and I have recently broken out into signage design that as allowed me to call back to some of my printmaking theories and provided me a new experience, and unleashed a new passion, within the graphic design field.
Paige the Gnome
The name Paige the Gnome is a moniker I created in 2022 when I played a gnome character in a Dungeons and Dragons game. I went on to use it to start my own small business creating and selling journals and other D&D themed accessories.
I now only play gnome characters in D&D.
